The core function of a home battery system is to retain surplus solar energy which is generated during the day light hours, to then release it back to you after dark.
In financial terms, rather than selling energy to the grid via your feed-in-tariff for a lowly 5-8c/kWh and then buying the same energy back again for around 40c/kWh, the battery will save you the difference between the two.
You will be utilising the power that you have generated to power your house, office or commercial operation even when the sun goes down.

LOW-INTEREST LOANS AVAILABLE
The Home Battery Scheme gives all grid-connected South Australians access to state government subsidies and low-interest loans – provided by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation – to help pay for a home battery system and new solar if required.
The subsidy is available to all South Australians, and calculated on the kilowatt hour capacity of the battery purchased.
Furthermore, Energy Concession Holders are eligible for a higher subsidy, ensuring low-income households are supported to access the Scheme.
